This magnificent 6-day event has been designed from scratch to create an unforgettable hands-on learning experience that will stand head and shoulders above any technical seminar that you have ever attended. What will you learn?
The Solar PV Boot Camp uses a blended mix of instructor-led training, hands-on labs, and computer-based software tools. You will learn solar-electric system design, installation, and safety procedures, plus business and industry topics important for professionals new to photovoltaics.
Our hands-on solar training labs cover the common steps of a residential solar electric retrofit. You will wire up inverters from a variety of manufacturers and mount solar panels on racking systems with roof penetrations and panel attachments. You will learn how to work with DC disconnects, inverters, AC disconnects, and load center/service panels to tie in with the utility. We will also demonstrate the connection of a live solar array feeding power into the grid. The techniques of PV financial estimation and system sizing & placement are taught using a combination of hands-on tools and software on Internet-connected PCs at each student's desk.

What's included?
Your tuition fee includes instruction, materials, text book, examination fee, labs and daily catered lunch on all 6 days. All students receive a course completion certificate on the last day. Students who pass the certification exam on the last day are also awarded the Boots Certified Solar PV Professional certification.

Using a blended learning approach of instructor-led training, hands-on labs, and computer-based software tools, this class is a "crash course" on the ins & outs of the PV Systems Sales Process. It is intended for experienced Sales Professionals moving into solar from other industries. The course overlaps most of the non-hands-on content from our 6-Day Solar Boot Camp, with additional information specifically useful for Sales Professionals: customer relationship management, lead generation and closing, deeper financial analysis of customer ROI, and using the consultative sales approach for solar. At the end of class, students will be tested on the completion of a mock solar project estimate and bid.
Before coming to class, students should be comfortable with:

How long is it?
The online solar training course is self paced, and most students finish in 4-7 weeks. The total time is about 40-60 hours.
We recognize that most online courses are notoriously boring, and that many students do not finish them. So, we designed a fun, interactive online solar training course about the design & installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. We enhanced the course with interactive exercises, animations, quick quizzes, solar resources and video clips. We also include an entire solar kit with real solar PV cells, DC motors and a multi-meter. Our hands-on exercises help you really understand solar design!
You can do the course work whenever you wish, day or night, and an instructor is available to help you with your questions.
Upon completing the online solar training course and finishing the assessments with a 70% score, students will be awarded the Boots Entry-level Photovoltaic Design certification.
